PhDr. Marija Revická, Ph.D.

My name is Marija Revická. I am a special educator — somatopedist, an Ayres Sensory Integration® educator, a psychomotor re-education specialist and a family therapist under supervision.
For more than 15 years, I have been accompanying children who need a little more support, understanding and time on their developmental journey. Throughout my professional career, I have worked with children in mainstream and special kindergartens and primary schools, counselling centres, and my own private practice. Every child I have had the privilege of meeting has taught me to see the world through their eyes and reminded me that behind every behaviour, there is a reason and a story.
In my work, I believe that no child is “problematic.” Every child has their own pace of development, their unique strengths and enormous potential. My goal is not to focus only on difficulties, but above all to discover what each child is good at, what brings them joy and what we can build on together. When a child feels safe, accepted and successful, they can learn, grow and develop in a much more natural way.
In my practice, I combine knowledge from special education, Ayres Sensory Integration®, psychomotor re-education, support for the integration of retained primary reflexes, relaxation techniques and family therapy. Every child is different, so there is no one-size-fits-all approach. I always tailor the therapy to the child’s individual needs, abilities and family environment.
Parents are an equally important part of my work. I believe that children make the greatest progress when professionals, families and schools work together as a team. That is why I listen to parents, explore their perspectives, explain each step and work with them to create an environment in which their child can feel confident, safe and accepted.
I studied at the Faculty of Education of Charles University in Prague and at the Faculty of Special Education and Rehabilitation at the University of Belgrade. I currently work as an Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Education of Charles University, where I contribute to the education and training of future special educators. I also collaborate with other universities (TUL, AMBIS, Profesní institut Jahodovka) and have extensive experience providing professional consultations to teachers in kindergartens and primary schools. By combining academic work with hands-on experience with children, I bring evidence-based knowledge and years of practical experience into my work.
I am also a mother of two young children. Motherhood has given me a new perspective on the world of children and parents and has taught me to see even more clearly the love, worries and hopes behind every parental question. I know that sometimes parents do not need to hear what their child cannot do. They need someone who can help them understand why their child behaves in a certain way and show them how to support them with sensitivity and understanding.
I strive to accompany my clients with respect, empathy and professionalism. I believe that real progress does not come from pressure to perform, but from a safe relationship, trust, collaboration and the joy of both small and big successes.
When I am not working, I love spending time with my family in nature. I enjoy staying active, reading professional literature and fiction, and continuing to learn, because I believe that quality care for children begins with openness, humility and a commitment to lifelong learning.
Every child deserves to be seen for who they truly are — not through the lens of their difficulties, but through their unique potential. My mission is to help children discover this potential and to be a kind and professional guide for parents along the way.
How I approach my work
Respect for pace
I never rush anyone. Development has its own rhythm and my task is to create the right conditions, not to push.
Parents as partners
Parents know their child best. My expertise complements your intuition, it never replaces it.
Clarity
I translate professional reports into language you can genuinely work with in everyday life.
